While my work schedule made it almost impossible for me to plan to go out with my assigned group, I borrowed the device for myself yesterday and mapped some points at Ocean Beach including the Cliff House, Sutro Baths and surrounding area. My co-worker Ashley and I parked my car at the beach and walked up the hill with a grade that stretched our calf muscles. When we were stopped by signs that were supposed to keep people off the rocks, we continued and climbed around by the ocean which was spitting foam and salt water up by the cliffs.
I listened for sounds of draining water and discovered one by the baths near the pathway leading up to the Cliff House. The area was surrounded by what looked like poison oak, so we stepped carefully and looked into the brush where the drain was located. We didn't discover exactly where it was, but I thought it was interesting how it was covered by nature, almost like it could have been a part of nature.
I was also amazed by how quickly we got from point to point - as if we didn't do any walking at all. I guess I could blame my interest in the scenery, and the excited feeling I got from exploring - similar to being a kid and climbing around uncharted-charted terrain.
